Italian Association for Chamber of Commerce – Mediterranean and the Gulf countries – Comedit – is the result of reconstitution as an association of the Chamber of Commerce for the Arab countries for OPEC which has its origin in 1973.

In 2014 COMEDIT received accreditation in the register of transparency of the European Community.
